Overview

Aisha is an Associate in the Bowmans Nairobi office and a member of the corporate commercial practice group. She specialises in corporate and commercial law work involving mergers and acquisitions transactions, private client work and general corporate and commercial advisory work. She also has experience in advising on ESG compliance in Kenya.

Experience

• Involved in the restructuring of the shareholding in a large building and construction company operating in Kenya;
• Assisted in conducting due diligence in respect of one of the largest insurers in East Africa;
• Involved in advising an investment fund management company on capital markets compliance requirements in Kenya;
• Conducted due diligence on companies in various sectors;
• Drafting and reviewing transaction documents including Business and Assets Transfer Agreements, Share purchase agreements and shareholder’s agreement;
• Advising various international clients in connection with their setting up of businesses in Kenya;
• Private client work including estate planning; and
• Preparing advisory opinions on general corporate matters.
• Providing legal advice to Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS KENYA) in relation to the options available for registration and subsequent support in the actual setting up as a Non-Governmental Organisation.
• Advising Africa Public Health Foundation on: (i) the options available for the registration; (ii) the tax, financial, employment, reporting, and compliance obligations of each option; and (iii) the possibility and requirements of obtaining tax exemptions and subsequent services in relation to the actual setting up of the entity as a company limited by guarantee.
