About Me

Brenda is a dynamic Corporate Advocate with an impressive record of success in negotiating transactions for mutually rewarding outcomes for her Clients. She is also at home in the courtroom as a fierce Trial Advocate and you would definitely want her on your side.

What excites her most is Commercial and Corporate Law which takes up well over fifty percent of her practice. This area of practice includes contract law, company law including employment and labour related matters, mergers and acquisitions, property law (conveyancing) through which she has handled construction development projects well worth over a billion shillings, banking and perfection of securities, business regulations, tax law and other transactional engagements between different parties. She also handles Divorce, Children and Succession matters including writing of wills for her individual Clients.

Brenda also has a soft spot for Legal Compliance/Audit, Due Diligence and Legal writing and drafting when involved in non-contentious matters. She has over the years been involved in local startups for multi-national Corporations and advises Clients on the establishment of business entities and regulatory compliance.

Brenda is a member of the Kenyan Bar and a registered member of the East Africa Law Society. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) (Hons) Degree from Moi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. Having successfully sat for her Corporate Secretaries Exams administered by KASNEB, she is set to become a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries Kenya (ICSK) and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (UK).

She started her career as a Senior Associate with the firm of Jennifer Shamalla & Company Advocates where she was in charge of the day-to-day running of the Firm and handling of all legal matters. Previously, she worked at Njue Muriithi & Associates Advocates in her role as a Pupil and Legal Associate.

Brenda sits in the Professional Standards and Ethics Committee of the Law Society of Kenya as well as a variety of Corporate Boards in her capacity as an Advocate.

In her free time, a good read works perfectly fine. Also, that occasional road trip or flight to experience new places and scenes is always a welcome treat in her world.
